Time to revitalise with a three day short break exploring Dartmoor. Dartmoor is the largest wilderness in southern England. The Dartmoor National Park covers 365 square miles of wild open moorland, high rocky tors and beautiful unspoilt river valleys in natural English woodland. Wild ponies, deer, foxes, badgers and a wide variety of birdlife enjoy the moor. Of human origin, ancient stone circles, an abandoned mediaeval village, old mines and quarries can be found as well as the legendary Jay’s Grave. Phil Royal, your lead guide, will take you off the beaten track to explore areas of Dartmoor rarely frequented by other walkers. Phil has years of experience walking and mountaineering in the Caucasus, the Pyrenees and the Translyvanian Alps as well as North Wales, Scotland and the Lake District. Phil has also worked in high pressure situations and knows how the value of short breaks in wilderness areas can refresh and revitalise performance at work. Absolutely everything can be arranged for you in advance including guided walks, accommodation, food and pick ups from rail (Newton Abbot) and air connections (Exeter, Plymouth). Every tour will be designed to suit your needs and budget. Walks can be anything from gentle to seriously hard. Food and accommodation can be arranged at every level from comfortable to exquisite. |
